The project which I am currently undertaking in collaboration with the English music producer James Barrett will bring together International singer-songwriters with whom I will do visual work when producing a « Shock Bang Show » that will link visual art to music and popular song. Its goal is to provoke a spiritual enthusiasm that can awaken awareness and elevate human dignity.

An exhibition entitled Shock Bang One that will take place in Paris from March 24 to April 9, 2014 will represents the first phase of the " Shock Bang Show Project" and will show paintings and a three-dimensional project in color, form, light, and sound to be produced on theater stages and to be made available also in areas of contemplation and consciousness-raising before entering the exhibitions.

The project's set design with adjustable parts will be made on a scale of 1:10 and in virtual reality. Included will be miniature panel projectors that in their color projection will isolate certain shapes and colors in order to modify them or hide them to emphasize other ones. Different colored-light projectors, which will follow the singer-artists on the stage or at times make them disappear, will be put in as well, as will projectors such as Blinders (or Molefays), cyclorama, and so forth. A music example will be composed linking rhythms found in the sounds of nature with the jolts provoked by firearms or mortar shells.

REFLEXION ON THE PROJECT

One world crumbles and another is born, but the very moment that this change takes place is accompanied by so many acts of violence and so many ordeals, both for those who die and those who kill. The former vanish and the others keep on living, but the weight of the person they have killed will continue to exist in their spirit. So much chaos inside the human mind. So much chaos at the moment when consciousness turns into unconsciousness.

We think of the weapons that kill but do we ever think of the people who do the killings? Do we try to understand why some people torture – today as much as yesterday –, why they make others suffer and become murderers while, at the same time, so many others merely prove how lax they are as they let them go their way without understanding why, without questioning its origin, without saying a word unless it is to conceal the truth beneath easy and indirect accusations.

We are all guilty of the crimes that are perpetually perpetrated, today as much as yesterday. Aren't we all people with ashen eyes, just like that Jewish tailor described in ArnostLustig's A Prayer for KaterinaHorowitzowa who, in all his cowardice, became associated with the worst of crimes by agreeing to become an accomplice of the killers, by saying nothing, understanding nothing, and through his non-action participating in the worst of crimes, that of accepting the murder of his own people in the gas chambers?

For more than forty years my artistic approach has been connected to contemplation and an ever-growing awareness. But today I am somehow appalled by the laxity that is so evident in so many individuals who, while hiding behind facile pretexts and deceptive fine sentiments, limply lead and induce the world to head downward without questioning themselves about the rose they have been growing in a minefield.
